“The social isolation is rough.”

Our caregiver advocate team was connected with a Christian couple, Nichole and Scott, who desperately need your help. They have four children (two of them have special needs) and Nichole is expecting their fifth child.

Surviving on one income, Nichole’s time at home primarily revolves around her 3-year-old, Gus. Gus has severe neurological and physical disabilities that have forced him to live nearly two years of his life in the hospital. Combined with the time spent caring for their second child with special needs, it’s not unusual for these parents to have a doctor’s appointment every day for weeks at a time.

Nichole told her advocate at the Caregiving Support Network that “the social isolation is rough”. Date nights are a thing of the past and even going to church is an hours-long ordeal that often ends in them having to leave in the middle of service because of Gus’ illness. Their hectic schedule and Gus’ ever-changing health have kept them from being able to interact with friends and even family.

The constant overwhelming stress of taking care of Gus, their other three children, and going through a pregnancy has taken a toll on this family. Even a meal delivered to their doorstep would go a long way to easing their burden in this difficult time.

Together, we can empower Nichole and Scott to continue caring for their children.  Here are some needs our caregiver advocate identified that we can help them with:

  • Hot meals delivered to their door every week

  • A regular house cleaning service

  • A loving and supportive community

Would you give Nichole and Scott the life-changing relief they need? Through your sponsorship, you will receive regular updates, photos, and even get the opportunity to exchange notes of encouragement with this family. It's a relationship more powerful than burnout — changing their life and yours!

Frequently Asked Questions about Sponsoring a Caregiver

  • Sponsoring a caregiver provides consistent relief to caregivers in turmoil. By giving monthly, you maximize the impact of your donation.

  • Length of support varies in each individual case depending on need and changing life circumstances. In the event a caregiver is phased out of the program, we will match you with another caregiver in need.

  • Sponsored caregivers receive practical relief that enables them to keep caring for their loved ones. A customized care plan is created for each caregiver that typically includes a home care aide to give temporary breaks, delivered meals, house cleanings, care packages, and regular prayer calls. These things allow the caregiver to take a break, and to take care of their own physical and mental health. We also work to connect all applicants with local resources beyond CSN.

  • Yes! Letters will be processed at our headquarters in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania before being sent to the caregiver. This is to protect your privacy and theirs. You will also have the option to send them text messages of encouragement.

  • We put Jesus at the center of everything we do. Prayer partners regularly check in with our caregivers to pray with them and lovingly point them to Christ. We do our best to connect each caregiver with a local church that will visit them in their home. You can read our Statement of Faith here.

  • As care plans are individualized, some caregivers may need more than one sponsor to meet their needs.

  • Yes, you can! You are more than welcome to sponsor multiple caregivers. 1 in 5 Americans are caregivers. Their need is great, and we’re dedicated to relentlessly growing CSN until we can help them all.

  • It costs $43 per month.

  • The Caregiving Support Network offers several ways to track your donations: 1) Pictures and updates of your caregiver and 2) Annual financial reports. We follow the Donor Bill of Rights.

  • The Caregiving Support Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. As our staff are often former caregivers, we pride ourselves on our commitment to transparency and integrity. For more information, please read our Commitment to Transparency and Integrity Pledge here. Each year we release our Form 990 on our website, which shows how the money raised was allocated.

We have an extensive vetting process to verify each caregiver who applies through our program, which includes doctors’ notes, over the phone and online video conversations, and occasional on-site visits.

Caregivers also sign an agreement detailing the condition of their loved ones, which gives CSN the permission to share their story with our network of donors and supporters.
